We are seeking a meticulous and insightful Data Analyst to join our team in Washington, D.C. This full-time role is crucial for supporting our mission by transforming complex data into actionable insights that guide our strategic initiatives and demonstrate the value of business investment in the United States.

Responsibilities

As a Data Analyst, you will play a key role in our analytical efforts. Your primary responsibilities will include:
 

  • Collecting, cleaning, and interpreting complex datasets related to foreign direct investment, economic trends, and market competitiveness.
  • Analysing data to identify significant patterns, correlations, and actionable insights that support SelectUSA's strategic objectives.
  • Developing and maintaining interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualisations for internal stakeholders and state-level economic development partners.
  • Collaborating with policy and research teams to provide robust quantitative analysis for publications, briefing materials, and presentations.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our data by implementing and overseeing rigorous quality control procedures.
  • Communicating analytical findings and recommendations clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Staying current with the latest industry trends, tools, and techniques in data analysis and visualisation.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset and a passion for using data to drive decision-making. Key qualifications include:
 

  • Proven professional experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role.
  • A bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or another relevant discipline.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and querying languages such as SQL, Python, or R.
  • Demonstrable experience with data visualisation tools, for instance, Tableau or Power BI.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate information with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Experience with economic data or working within a government agency is desirable but not essential.
