Position Summary:
Gastroenterology of the Rockies is a rapidly growing Gastroenterology practice in Boulder County and the greater Denver Metro area with seven office locations and five Ambulatory Surgery Centers.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Analytics & Application Specialist to support the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of clinical and operational applications while leveraging data analytics to drive improvements in patient care, operational efficiency, and informed decision-making. This role requires a strong background in data analysis, application support, and an understanding of healthcare or operational workflows.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (NOT MORE than 10 bullets)

Application Support:

Collaborate with stakeholders to assess needs, define requirements, and implement applications (e.g., EHR/EMR systems such as Greenway Intergy).

Serve as a liaison between IT and operational/clinical departments to ensure effective system adoption and workflow alignment.

Work with IT to assist end user to problem solve clinical application needs.

Configure, test, and support applications to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with industry regulations.

Provide user training and ongoing application support.

Serve as backup support for hospital charges, ensuring accurate and timely processing when primary staff are unavailable.

Train new hires on functionality of EMR (Greenway Intergy).

Assist in creating standard operating procedures (SOP) for workflow consistencies related to the EHR/EMR systems (Greenway Intergy)

Assist patients with Patient Portal Access

Assist with Application upgrade, to include training staff on new features.

Data Analytics & Reporting:

Collect, clean, and analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.

Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to support strategic and operational goals.

Translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.

Support evidence-based practices, quality improvement initiatives, and compliance reporting.

Process Improvement:

Assist in the development of process improvements and protocols based on data analysis and stakeholder input.

Monitor application performance and recommend enhancements to improve usability, efficiency, and outcomes.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, Nursing, Public Health, or related field.

Experience: 2–5 years of experience in application support, healthcare analytics, or a related field.

Experience with EHR systems and workflows (Greenway Intergy preferred).

Strong knowledge of data standards (HL7, API, FHIR, ICD-10, SNOMED) and compliance requirements.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, business intelligence/data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).

Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL) is a plus.

Familiarity with decision support systems and data integration tools.

Soft Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Analytical mindset with problem-solving ability; Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:

May require occasional on-call or weekend support during major system events.

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
