Data Analyst (In-Person, No Hybrid/Remote Opportunities)

This position is based out of our Southfield, Michigan office and requires on‑site presence. There are no remote work opportunities, and the role includes minimal, occasional travel to Villa Healthcare facilities.

Villa Healthcare is seeking a Data Analyst to join their team! The Data Analyst supports data management, analysis, and reporting functions across the organizations skilled nursing care centers. This role is responsible for transforming data into actionable insights that support clinical, operational, and financial decision-making. Data Analyst Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize complex Excel-based models, reports, and databases

  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement

  • Design and produce dashboards and visual reports for leadership and facility-level teams

  • Automate repetitive processes using macros and VBA to improve efficiency and accuracy

  • Partner with clinical, financial, HR, and operations teams to gather and interpret data requirements

  • Ensure data integrity through regular audits, validation processes, and standardization practices

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, census tracking, reimbursement analysis, and KPI reporting

  • Troubleshoot data discrepancies and resolve reporting issues in a timely manner

  • Create and maintain documentation for data processes, definitions, and reporting standards

  • Train and support team members on Excel tools, reporting systems, and best practices

  • Assist with integration and data validation during system implementations or upgrades

  • Perform all other duties, as assigned.

Data Analyst Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, Power Query, macros, VBA)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets

  • Ability to present data clearly through dashboards and visualizations

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Working knowledge of healthcare data (preferred), including census, reimbursement, or clinical metrics

  • Experience with additional tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL, or other reporting platforms) is a plus

Data Analyst Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field, preferred

  • 2–5+ years of experience in a data analyst, reporting analyst, or similar role

  • Advanced Excel experience required, including VBA and automation

  • Experience in healthcare, skilled nursing, or multi-site operations strongly preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.

  • Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.

  • Meet all health requirements as needed.
