Under the general direction of the Parks and Beautification Manager, performs complex professional work in coordinating activities to facilitate the preparation and completion of projects within the department. Carries out data analysis responsibilities in accordance with the City’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include collecting data, analyzing data, using problem solving skills to develop alternatives to resolve problems and presenting findings (graphs, written narratives and presentations). This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities and Reporting During an Emergency Situation
:
Essential Employees may be required to work during a declared emergency. Depending on the nature of the emergency, this may require working around the clock for several days on short notice.
Non-Essential Employees will not be required to work during a declared emergency. The employee’s Department Head will determine when the employee will be required to work.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Prepares project management data analysis is support of capital improvement projects.
  • Supports implementation of asset management and computerized maintenance management software.
  • Supports Department’s digital transformation, specifically leading the deployment and refinement of the Lucity software system.
  • Assist with the Preparation and administration of operational budget to ensure divisional goals and objectives are met including monitoring and tracking revenues and expenses of department and making necessary changes.
  • Coordinate special projects as needed.
  • Preparation of agenda items for City Council Approval.
  • Respond to public enquiries.
  • Submit South Florida Water management quarterly use report.
  • Operates a vehicle when required.
  • This position requires regular and reliable attendance and the employee’s physical presence at the workplace.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Proficient in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills and can work independently.
  • Skill to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
  • Skill in tracking and managing projects.
  • Skill in collecting analyzing and interpreting data.
  • Ability to operate necessary equipment, including personal computer, mainframe terminal, calculator, copier, facsimile machine and other standard office equipment.
  • Ability to apply sound judgment and interpretation based on acquired knowledge in circumstances where limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associates’ degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Business Administration or closely related field. Training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job, may be substituted for the degree.
  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Two years of progressively responsible experience in data analysis; evaluating financial, operational, statistical, or administrative data.

Work performed is primarily:
  • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Works in an office environment and sits for long periods of time.
  • May be required to work hours other than the regular schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Contact with internal and external customers and the general public.
