Position Summary
The Data Analyst will support the Training and Education Command (TECOM), Human Performance Branch (HPB) by providing technical, analytical, and data-driven decision support for Marine Corps Total Fitness programs. The role focuses on data collection, validation, analysis, visualization, and reporting to inform policy development, program evaluation, and leadership decision-making.
The Data Analyst will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure that all analytical outputs are accurate, actionable, and aligned with Marine Corps operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities1. Data Analysis & Reporting
- Collect, organize, validate, and analyze data related to Marine Corps physical fitness and readiness programs (e.g., PFT, CFT, MSPS, MCS, ISA)
- Perform trend analysis and statistical evaluation to identify patterns, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement
- Produce data-driven reports and analytical products in support of TECOM HPB requirements
- Provide rapid-response analysis for urgent requests, including 24-hour turnaround when required
2. Data Visualization & Automation
- Support the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Power BI, Power Automate, and other data-driven platforms to:
- Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations
- Automate reporting workflows and data processing
- Enhance accessibility and usability of data for decision-makers
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable visual insights for leadership
3. Methodology Development & Validation
- Develop and refine analytical methodologies and validation frameworks for physical fitness and readiness programs
- Support validation and modification of current testing standards and requirements
- Ensure analytical approaches are repeatable, defensible, and aligned with mission objectives
4. Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs)
- Develop and maintain quantifiable Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs) to assess program performance
- Ensure MOEs are:
- Measurable and testable
- Aligned to mission outcomes
- Suitable for tracking performance over time
5. Decision Support & COA Development
- Support the development of Courses of Action (COAs) based on analytical findings
- Conduct impact assessments for proposed program or policy changes
- Provide data-backed recommendations to support leadership decision-making
6. Program Monitoring & Performance Tracking
- Monitor Marine Corps physical readiness programs, including:
- Physical Fitness Test (PFT) / Combat Fitness Test (CFT)
- Water Survival Program
- Martial Arts Program
- Force Fitness Instructor Program
- Injury Prevention and Resiliency programs
- Track performance trends and identify areas for improvement
7. Collaboration & Integration
- Collaborate with:
- SFC/CC program leadership
- Embedded Marine Corps SME
- Government stakeholders (TECOM HPB)
- Support working groups, briefings, and in-progress reviews (IPRs) as required
- Ensure alignment between analytical outputs and policy, doctrine, and operational execution
8. Reporting & Deliverables
- Contribute to required deliverables, including:
- Monthly status reports
- Quarterly and annual assessments
- Executive briefings and presentations
- Ensure all deliverables meet:
- Quality standards
- Timeliness requirements
- Government expectations
Required Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Demonstrated experience in data collection, organization, analysis, and interpretation of statistical data
- Proficiency with:
- Power BI
- Power Automate
- Data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, or equivalent)
- Experience developing:
- Data visualizations
- Dashboards
- Analytical reports
- Knowledge of or experience with:
- Human performance, fitness, or related domains
- Data-driven decision support environments
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Marine Corps programs
- Familiarity with:
- Marine Corps Physical Fitness Programs
- Marine Corps Total Fitness (MCTF) strategy
- Experience with:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled analytics tools
- Survey data and human subjects research protocols
- Ability to operate effectively in a military staff environment

Role within the Team
The Data Analyst operates under the direction of the SFC/CC Program Manager and works closely with:
- Marine Corps SME (embedded within SFC/CC)
- Policy and doctrine support personnel
- Government stakeholders
This role is critical to ensuring that all analytical outputs are accurate, mission-aligned, and decision-ready.
Pay: $60.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Quantico, VA 22135
