Data Analyst - Travel Operations

This role is designed for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field who have strong analytical and problem-solving ability. This is not a traditional data analyst role (no dashboards, SQL, or Power BI) or software development position. The focus is on real-world decision-making - analyzing multiple travel options, evaluating tradeoffs, and identifying the most efficient solutions.


We are a US-based travel advisory company focused on analyzing and optimizing travel solutions for international clients. We are hiring a Data Analyst – Operations & Optimization to work on real-world problem solving in the travel domain. This role involves analyzing travel options (flights, hotels), preparing structured recommendations, and supporting backend reporting. This is a thinking-heavy, client-facing role - not a routine booking or support position.


This role is based in Islamabad / Rawalpindi and follows a hybrid model. The role is primarily remote (work from home), with in-person presence required approximately once a week for meetings and coordination. These meetings are typically scheduled during evening hours (approximately 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM PKT). Working hours are aligned to US time zones (8:00 PM to 4:00 AM PKT). This is an independent contractor role with a US-based company, offering long-term growth opportunities based on performance. Candidates must be based in Islamabad / Rawalpindi.


Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze and compare multiple travel options to identify optimal solutions.
  2. Evaluate tradeoffs and provide clear, structured recommendations.
  3. Research routes, pricing, and alternatives using online tools.
  4. Prepare backend reports, summaries, and support expense tracking.
  5. Generate analytics and insights from travel and expense data.
  6. Communicate recommendations clearly to clients and respond to queries.
  7. Incorporate client feedback and refine solutions accordingly.
  8. Continuously improve decision-making approaches and workflows.


Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or similar field.
  2. Strong problem-solving and logical thinking ability.
  3. Ability to break down problems and compare alternatives.
  4. Excellent communication skills with ability to interact with clients.
  5. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  6. Comfortable working with numbers and analytical reasoning.
  7. Willingness to learn and adapt.
