About the Role

As a Data Analytics Intern, you will support data analysis and reporting work, help validate data quality, and contribute to dashboards and documentation.

Matson Data Services and Analytics teams help deliver insights that support business and technology decisions. This internship is structured, mentored, and aligned with academic learning goals.

This position requires the successful candidate to work on-site at our Walnut Creek corporate office at least three days per week.

What you’ll do:

• Analyze data to identify trends and insights
• Support dashboards, reports, and visualizations
• Help validate data quality and consistency
• Document data definitions, sources, and processes
• Collaborate with technical and business partners

You have these qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in data science, analytics, statistics, information systems, or related field
• Completed at least one academic term prior to internship start
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Familiarity with one or more: SQL, Excel, Python, or visualization tools (coursework is fine)

Extra credit if you have:

• Experience building simple dashboards or reports
• Strong communication skills for explaining results clearly
• Use of AI assistants in software development
