Summary
The Data and Equipment Telematics Analyst is responsible for managing, capturing, and analysing all
telematics and equipment-related data within the fleet. This role ensures accurate reporting, timely
identification of equipment issues, and effective coordination with technicians, suppliers, and internal
teams. The analyst plays a key role in monitoring equipment performance, optimising service
schedules, and supporting operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities

Data Management & Analysis:

Capture, validate, and enter all telematics and equipment data received from various systems

Evaluate daily operational data to identify trends, anomalies, or irregularities.

Maintain accurate digital records and ensure data integrity across platforms.

Generate routine and ad-hoc data reports for management and operations teams.

Telematics Monitoring & Coordination

Monitor equipment hours, utilisation, and performance through telematics systems.

Identify fault codes, alarms, and error notifications and report them promptly to the relevant technicians or supervisors.

Track equipment due for servicing and coordinate with the responsible servicing supervisor for timely action.

Telematics Installation Planning

Organise and plan new telematics installations for incoming or existing equipment.

Coordinate with the Service and Workshop teams to schedule installation activities.

Ensure installations comply with company standards and supplier requirements.

Supplier & Service Coordination

Liaise with telematics suppliers regarding technical issues, downtime, and online service interruptions.

Follow up on unresolved system errors, inaccurate readings, or portal malfunctions.

Work with vendors to optimise the performance and reliability of telematics systems.

Operational Reporting

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on equipment status, health, performance, and utilisation.

Highlight equipment requiring urgent attention due to fault codes, service hours, or operational concerns.

Assist in building dashboards and data summaries to support business decisions.

Continuous Improvement

Recommend improvements to data-capturing processes, reporting formats, and telematics workflows.

Support initiatives aimed at enhancing accuracy, equipment uptime, and operational efficiency.
Key Skills & Competencies

Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

Good communication and coordination abilities.

Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and digital reporting tools.

Familiarity with telematics platforms (e.g., JLG ClearSky, Genie LiftConnect, Trackunit, etc.) is an advantage.

Ability to prioritise tasks and work under time-sensitive conditions.

Technical understanding of equipment servicing is an added benefit.
Qualifications & Experience

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Data Analysis, or related field (preferred but not mandatory).

Previous experience in telematics, equipment monitoring, or data analysis is an advantage.

Experience in the construction or equipment rental industry is beneficial.
