Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee complex retrofit projects within hyperscale data centers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC, electrical systems, and building management/control systems (BMS/Controls) and must demonstrate an ability to manage construction activities in live, mission-critical environments with zero downtime tolerance.
Duties
- Manage day-to-day construction activities for HVAC, electrical, and BMS/control system retrofit projects within operating data centers.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure alignment with project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, commissioning agents, and hyperscaler client teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Enforce and maintain rigorous safety, quality, and compliance standards.
- Review design drawings, submittals, MOPs (Methods of Procedure), and construction documents for constructability and alignment with project goals.
- Plan and execute work in operational environments with minimal to no disruption to live data center operations.
- Track project performance metrics, manage schedule updates, and report progress to internal and client stakeholders.
- Participate in commissioning, testing, and turnover of systems in accordance with hyperscaler standards and procedures.
- Manage change orders, RFI processes, and documentation requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 7+ years of experience in construction/project management, with 3+ years specifically in hyperscale or mission-critical data center environments.
- Proven expertise managing retrofit and upgrade projects involving HVAC systems, electrical infrastructure, and control systems (BMS/SCADA/EPMS).
- Strong knowledge of data center MEP systems, including chilled water, CRAH/CRAC units, UPS, generators, switchgear, PDUs, and control integration.
- Experience managing live facility retrofits in high-availability environments without impacting critical operations.
- Understanding of industry standards such as ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA, and hyperscaler-specific design/construction guidelines.
- Familiarity with commissioning and QA/QC practices.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, one-lines, control schematics, and network diagrams.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with hyperscaler clients (e.g., AWS, Google, Meta, Microsoft).
- PMP, LEED, or similar certification.
- OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training.
- Experience with project management software such as Procore, Primavera P6, or MS Project.
- Familiarity with BMS platforms such as Honeywell, Siemens, Tridium/Niagara, or Schneider EcoStruxure.

Pay: $98,531.00 - $110,151.00 per year
