Data Center Operations Manager (Infrastructure)

Job description

We are seeking a driven and experienced Project Manager with a background in leading operations/manufacturing teams. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and capable of overseeing IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered within established timelines and budgets.

Own end-to-end delivery of data center buildouts and hardware deployments (not a software PM role). You will drive scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk for projects such as white-space fit-out, rack & stack, structured cabling, and commissioning, coordinating internal teams, vendors, and site operations to achieve on-time, on-quality handover.

The starting salary is $70,000 per year, with flexibility for negotiation depending on the candidate’s experience.

This position does not offer H-1B sponsorship.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead floor readiness, cage/containment, rack layout, rack & stack, labeling, and inventory control.
  • Oversee structured cabling (fiber/copper/low-voltage) installation and testing; manage BOMs, MOPs/SOPs, and as-builts.

  • Take the lead in project progression, ensuring adherence to safety regulations at all times.
  • Maintain meticulous tracking of tasks, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Manage client relationships, providing updates on project progress, address issues, and handling scope changes.
  • Align DC operations, network/IT, security, logistics/procurement, and external GC/MEP/low-voltage vendors.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years delivering data center or mission-critical projects (buildout, hardware deployment, MEP coordination, or large-scale IT infrastructure) is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Availability to travel for business purposes, approximately 50% of the time.
  • Demonstrated willingness to go above and beyond to meet project objectives.
  • Fluency in both Chinese and English is a plus.
