The Data Center Operations Security Program Manager is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing management of the physical security program across one or more data-center campuses. This role ensures the protection of personnel, critical infrastructure, customer assets, and information by establishing standardized security policies, operational procedures, compliance controls, and risk-management frameworks aligned with industry standards and operational best practices.
The Security Program Manager partners closely with Operations, Facilities, IT, Legal, Compliance, and external security vendors to maintain a secure, resilient, and audit-ready environment without compromising uptime or operational efficiency.
- Develop, own, and maintain the enterprise physical security program for data-center operations.
- Establish standardized security policies, procedures, and operational playbooks across all sites.
- Define security governance frameworks aligned with industry standards.
- Oversee day-to-day physical security operations including access control, surveillance, and guard services.
- Implement and manage access control systems, CCTV, alarms, and monitoring platforms.
- Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and threat modeling.
- Lead security incident investigations and corrective action planning.
- Develop and maintain incident response and escalation procedures.
- Support audits, customer assurance activities, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage security vendors, contracts, SLAs, and performance metrics.
- Develop and deliver security training and awareness programs.
- Establish KPIs, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
7+ years of experience in physical security or risk management.
Experience managing multi-site security programs.
Strong knowledge of physical security systems and technologies.
Experience supporting audits and compliance frameworks.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
CPP, PSP, CISSP, CISM, or similar certifications.
Experience in data-center, colocation, or hyperscale environments.
Familiarity with SOC 1/2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and NIST frameworks.
Experience managing large security vendors and contracts.
