TSP, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Technician for a full-time role in the North Dallas, TX area. Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enterprise Server Hardware Support in data center
- Enterprise Network Support in data center
- Parts management / inventory, warranty and non-warranty
- Follow best practices in all aspects of job role- safety, standard configuration per OEM specifications, process & communications within a large team
- Incident management and documentation
- Strong customer service, organizational, communication and team work skills are a must
- Installing copper/fiber cable and racking of network equipment
- Analyzing systems errors or anomalies, as well as specific server / storage performance issues and/or error messages, in order to ensure maximum uptime and service quality and assess trends that may ultimately result in degradation of service
- Must be skilled with basic hand tools and rack-level assembly techniques
- Maintain and service data center hardware equipment (primarily mid to high-end servers and other storage devices)
- Provide top-notch service to our customers to ensure 100% customer loyalty
- Manage the hardware maintenance needs of their assigned accounts
- Be passionate about helping people and fixing problems
- Have strong technical skills with knowledge of computer hardware
- Understand and practice proactive service and data center safety methodology
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years or more as a Hardware Technician
- Experience working in an Enterprise Data Center environment
- Experience with all OEM Platforms with emphasis on SUN Solaris, Red Hat Linux and Windows operating systems, Sun servers, HP Servers, Dell servers, and Lenovo servers
- Experience building, installing, and troubleshooting servers along with structured cabling (copper and fiber)
- Installation and troubleshooting of server and storage hardware
- Strong understanding of network typologies and protocols preferred
- Incident management and documentation experience required, preferably Cherwell, Remedy or ServiceNow ITSM and CMDB tools
- Ability to multi-task in a quick paced environment
- Familiarity with change control processes in ITIL framework desired
- Cisco, Dell, and Lenovo certifications preferred
ADDITIONAL:
- Lifting up to 70 lbs. and bending/twisting/kneeling to work on various sizes of equipment
- High School Diploma or GED is required; BA/AA in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or related IT field is preferred
