Shift Schedule:

Full-time, onsite. Candidate must be open to on-call support after business hours and occasional travel to other sites.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Center Technician (RunOps) to support data center operations through installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fiber optic and cabling systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with data center infrastructure and a strong commitment to quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mount and install racks, patch panels, fiber optics, and related hardware.
• Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cables as required.
• Perform testing such as continuity tests on horizontal and riser cables using volt-ohmmeter.
• Troubleshoot opens, crosses, shorts, and transpose pairs using a tone set.
• Install and terminate LC, SC, ST, FC, FDDI, SMA, and MPO/MTP connectors for both multi-mode and single-mode fiber.
• Perform mechanical and fusion splicing on all fiber types.
• Execute building entrance splices, maintenance space splices, and direct buried splices.
• Perform testing using OTDR, Fluke, and EFXO equipment.
• Maintain accurate documentation including timesheets, material transfers, work orders, and change orders.
• Follow all company safety and quality standards.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Proficient in terminating all connector types and methods for SMF and MMF systems (Unicam, anaerobic, heat-cure).
• Experience in testing and troubleshooting MMF & SMF systems (OTDR & PMLS).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs.
• Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of experience in fiber installation or data center operations.
• Industry certifications (Corning / FOA / BICSI).
• Mechanical and fusion splicing experience.
• OSP / Confined Space Entry experience (splicing).
• Data center installation experience.
