The Data Collector is an entry-level technical role responsible for the precise and systematic execution of data acquisition routes for the Condition Monitoring program across various client sites. Working under the supervision of a Site Engineer or Senior Analyst, the Data Collector ensures all machinery vibration, process, and visual data is gathered accurately and efficiently using specialized handheld equipment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Acquisition & Route Management
- Execute pre-defined data collection routes on rotating machinery (pumps, motors, fans, gearboxes, etc.) using portable vibration data collectors.
- Ensure the consistent placement of accelerometers and proper configuration of the data collector (e.g., Fmax, resolution, averaging) as instructed for each measurement point.
- Accurately record and document all supplementary data, including visual observations (leaks, noise, excessive heat), process parameters (pressure, temperature), and running conditions.
- Troubleshoot basic issues related to data collection, such as sensor problems, cable faults, or data collector functionality.
2. Equipment Management
- Maintain and ensure the proper functioning, calibration, and cleanliness of all assigned data collection equipment, cables, and sensors.
- Organize and download collected data into the analysis software at the end of each route or site visit, ensuring data integrity before handover to the Analyst team.
3. Safety and Compliance
- Strictly adhere to all client site safety protocols (e.g., PPE requirements, Lockout/Tagout procedures) and Aerotech Baroda's safety policies while executing field work.
- Work closely with client personnel and the Aerotech team to ensure minimal disruption to plant operations during data collection.
