Data Compliance & Governance Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Data Compliance & Governance Officer to ensure that organizational data practices comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will monitor, enforce, and continuously improve data compliance and governance processes to safeguard data integrity, security, and usability across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and enforce compliance with data protection laws, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Implement and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct regular audits and risk assessments related to data handling and storage.
• Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, legal, and business units to address compliance issues.
• Provide guidance on data privacy, security, and ethical usage of data.
• Develop and deliver training programs on data compliance and governance.
• Maintain records of compliance activities and prepare executive-level reports.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen data compliance processes.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Law, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data compliance, governance, or risk management.
• Strong knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, local privacy laws).
• Experience with data governance frameworks and audit practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Professional certifications in data compliance, data governance, or risk management are a plus
