About the Role

We are looking for a Data Engineer (1–2 Years Experience) to support the development and optimization of our data pipelines, data models, and analytics infrastructure. You will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to build reliable and scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines for batch and streaming data.
• Support implementation of real-time data processing using Apache Flink (or similar tools).
• Work with Snowflake to help optimize data storage, performance, and cost.
• Contribute to building data models and schemas within StarRocks DB and other analytical stores.
• Write clean, maintainable code — primarily in Java (Python exposure is added advantage).
• Support data quality checks, data validation, and governance processes.
• Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to support model integrations.
• Assist in monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing data pipelines and cloud infrastructure.

Required QualificationsEducation

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related fields.

Experience

• 1–2 years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering involving data-related work.

Technical Skills

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of stream processing (Apache Flink preferred; Kafka Streams/Spark Streaming acceptable).
• Strong programming skills in Java; familiarity with Python is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Snowflake or any cloud data warehouse.
• Exposure to analytical databases (StarRocks DB preferred) or relational databases like PostgreSQL/MySQL.
• Understanding of data engineering concepts like data modeling, schema design, and data quality.

Additional Preferred Skills

• Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP (storage, compute, or data services).
• Basic understanding of workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect).
• Familiarity with Apache Kafka, Spark, or similar ecosystem tools.
• Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes fundamentals.
• Experience using Git, Jira, or CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins) for data pipelines.
• Understanding of data governance concepts — metadata, lineage, or data validation frameworks (e.g., Great Expectations).
• Basic understanding of statistics, sampling, and use cases within data pipelines.
