Data Engineering

The Ideal candidate is able to create and maintain multi-terabyte enterprise data platforms that serves well defined business needs. She / he needs to be able to combine best practices from traditional data warehousing technologies with some experience in modern scalable data architectures in order to cater to different types of workloads, such as foundational data platforms, real time structured search, in-flight event data processing, large scale real time querying, iterative workloads, graph processing, etc. Daily responsibilities include the following:

• Work closely with the business teams and translate business problems into analytical requirements
• Work with a team of people to design various components of the solution, such as data movement, storage, computation / processing, and insight delivery
• Lead the deployment and maintenance of this platform and contribute to continuous improvement
• Work collaboratively using iterative methods, design and code reviews, and contributing ideas for business growth

Requirements

• Bachelors/ Masters/ PhD degree in Math, Computer Science, Information Systems, Machine Learning, Statistics, Econometrics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research or related technical degree
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related position, as a Technology Architect providing technical leadership in handling for various types of business problems
• 4+ years of building data platforms for analytics, advanced analytics in AWS or Azure
• Exposure to Traditional ETLs and in-depth exposure to orchestrating pipelines in AWS or Azure
• Data Modelling, Query optimization in MPP systems
• Able to design the technical architecture, platforms selection, develop & test solutions to address the client problems & requirements
• Experience in designing & developing data processing solutions & custom ETL pipeline for varied data formats
• Knowledge on scalable processing frameworks, RDBMS & NoSQL platforms
• Strong fundamentals in Hadoop, Spark
• Strong individual planning and project management skills, able to juggle multiple tasks and priorities
• Track record of delivering strong business results
• Ability to communicate technical architecture to business audience
