Data Engineer / Contract / Full Time (FTE)-3

Job Summary
The Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain enterprise data systems that collect, store, and process information for analytics and business operations. The role involves building scalable pipelines, developing data structures, and implementing quality checkpoints to ensure data integrity. This position supports data scientists, analysts, engineering teams, and business stakeholders by delivering reliable and high-performing data infrastructure.

Roles and Responsibilities
Collaborate with business users, engineering teams, and senior leadership to understand data requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
Design, architect, and implement data models, workflows, and integrations across enterprise platforms to support business processes.
Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and new API integrations to support growing data volume and complexity.
Improve performance and reliability of databases, queries, tools, and ingestion systems.
Develop and maintain data warehouses, database schemas, SQL queries, ETL/ELT ingestion pipelines, and structured datasets.
Write efficient and complex queries to transform raw data into accessible, analytics-ready formats.
Partner with analytics, data science, and engineering teams to automate reporting, optimize data flows, and enhance overall data ecosystem.
Identify and resolve complex data issues and performance bottlenecks proactively.
Ensure full compliance with healthcare data governance standards, including HIPAA requirements.
Due to access to PHI and sensitive data, this position is classified as a high-risk and privileged role.

Requirements (Education, Experience & Technical Skills)
7+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar technical discipline.
Strong experience with SQL, Python, Spark, ETL/ELT processes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud data platforms.
Ability to design and maintain complex data pipelines, warehouses, and integration frameworks.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed technical decisions independently.
