Role Overview
We are looking for Data Engineer and Data Scientists with strong US Healthcare experience- focusing Health Systems and hands-on skills in SQL, Looker/LookML, and Epic EHR. The role involves building dashboards, running analyses, and supporting clinical and operational teams in the US.
Key Responsibilities
- Build dashboards/reports using Looker.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries.
- Work with Epic EHR datasets (Clarity/Caboodle).
- Build data processing pipelines that collect, connect, centralize and curate data from various internal and external sources into an Enterprise Data Warehouse.
- Design, implement, test and deploy scalable, reliable data engineering solutions for moving data efficiently across systems.
- Work in an Agile team setting; break down work into small increments and provide just-in-time design.
- Define and implement dimensional data models; create stored procedures/functions; optimize SQL queries on large scale database platforms.
- Ensure data quality: write test scripts, test cases for analytic solutions, support SDLC (requirements → architecture → implementation → deployment → support) for data solutions.
- Preferred: Automate predictive models (R/Python/SAS/SPSS), API development, continuous delivery and deployment for analytics, dashboard/visualization development.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in PST hours.
Required Skills
- Mandatory previous experience in working with US Healthcare with Hospitals / Health Systems from offshore / nearshore locations.
- Strong SQL + Looker/LookML capability.
- Experience with Epic HER- must
- For the Data Engineer role: at least 3- 5 years of experience in technology/data engineering role building scalable architectures on large scale database platforms.
- Strong SQL skills (query optimization, stored procedures, functions) and experience working in a complex data infrastructure environment.
- Experience in SDLC for data/analytics solutions.
- Experience with tools like Netezza, IBM DataStage, BitBucket, JIRA, Confluence.
- Experience productizing/automating predictive models (R/SAS/Python/SPSS).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, test-driven development for analytics, API development, and visualization/dashboard tools.
- Ability to work with EHR/data warehouse, claims, population health, interoperability (FHIR/HL7)”.
- For senior roles, highlight “ability to translate clinical/operational questions into data engineering or data science solutions that drive cost-savings, quality, outcomes, operational efficiency”.
- Excellent communication skills for US teams.
