Data Engineer II

The Data / ML Engineer II will independently design, build, and maintain data infrastructure and pipelines to support the development, deployment, and scaling of data and machine learning models within the financial sector. This role requires a solid understanding of data engineering principles, proficiency in relevant tools and technologies, and the ability to translate data requirements into effective and efficient data solutions. Experience with data structures within core banking systems and common banking applications is highly desirable.

Focus: Manage & Build ML Pipelines, Refine ETL Processes & Mentorship

The difference you will make:

• Independently design, develop, and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources.
• Implement and optimize data quality checks and validation procedures to ensure data accuracy and consistency across diverse banking data sources.
• Implement and manage the automation of data pipeline execution and monitoring.
• Build and manage data warehouses, data lakes, and other data storage solutions, considering the specific data storage and access patterns of banking systems, while enforcing data security and access control measures, adhering to banking security policies and regulations.
• Develop and implement strategies for deploying data and machine learning models at scale.
• Collaborate with data scientists to independently understand data requirements and model dependencies, including the structure and nuances of data within banking systems.
  

What you will bring to the role:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience:

o 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.

o Proven experience in building and deploying data pipelines and infrastructure, preferably within the financial services industry.

o Solid experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies.

o Experience with machine learning model deployment and monitoring.

o Strongly preferred: Some knowledge of core banking system data structures (e.g., Temenos).

o Familiarity with data from common banking applications (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and various POS systems).

• Technical Skills:

o Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Scala, Java).

o Expertise in big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).

o Strong knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL).

o Familiarity with machine learning frameworks.

o Solid understanding of DevOps practices and tools.

o Experience with data warehousing and ETL tools.
