Data Engineer/Architect

Summit Human Capital is seeking a highly motivated Data Center Architect to support our client in the development of a cutting-edge Consolidated Communication Center (CCC) for the Air Force at Andrews AFB. This position has the exciting opportunity to support the design, architecture, and operational maintenance of a secure, large-scale data center serving both NIPRNet and SIPRNet domains. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
Requirements:

• Active Secret security clearance and current Security+ certification

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in related field with 10+ years of relevant experience in DoD networking (NIPR/SIPR), data center operations, and NGEN environments (NOC, SOC, cyber, IT service delivery)

• Proven leadership in DevOps/DevSecOps organizations with experience utilizing ITSM products (ServiceNow, Remedy) and working with MS Visio or AutoCAD

• Experience planning developing, and implementing new technologies, enhancements, and upgrades in large enterprises

• Strong knowledge in hardware and software interconnection/interfacing and power infrastructure layout with the ability to advise senior leaders and stakeholders on requirements, configurations, and limitations

Desired:

• ITIL Foundation certification

• Data Center Management certification

• Familiarity with DCIM tools (e.g., Nlyte)

Responsibilities:

• Lead strategic data center operations, migration planning, and roadmap execution

• Define, implement, and enforce data center standards, processes, and security protocols

• Oversee installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and decommissioning of data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, and rack-level redundancy

• Support DevSecOps initiatives by planning, evaluating, and implementing emerging technologies and infrastructure enhancements

• Produce architectural artifacts, technical assessments, and root cause analyses while advising senior stakeholders on enterprise infrastructure decisions

The base pay range for this position is $180,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
