JOB SUMMARY

Support ALCO Pharmacy Account Management by performing key order entry or administrative tasks. Follow up regularly with physicians’ offices on prior authorizations, order maintenance, and prescription clarification. Partner with Billing Unit to assist in resolving rejected claims. Ensure monthly cycle paperwork is accurately printed, packed, and organized. Work closely with Billing Unit to resolve billing problems and reconcile order issues for assigned clients.

Here is an overview of the position:

  • Support ALCO Account Managers by performing key order entry tasks for new orders and refills.
  • Process refills and updates accurately and ensure billing issues are addressed.
  • Perform claims adjudication and correct any errors and/or resolve claims.
  • Regularly check that prescriptions appear correctly in Workflow queues and quickly resolve orders in Error Resolution.
  • Communicate with physicians and medical staff on prior authorizations and order clarification.
  • Follow up on all communication with doctors’ office and agencies in a timely manner.
  • Receive and print all incoming faxes, emails, electronic orders, and distribute as appropriate.
  • Scan paperwork into the system and archive documents as needed.
  • Manage department’s archives and filing needs as defined by Supervisor and ALCO Management.
  • With direction from Account Manager, prepare paperwork for medications and/or delivery including forms, patient dosage/usage and side effect sheets, delivery sheets, cycle paperwork, etc.
  • Perform ad hoc administrative tasks or reports for Account Managers or ALCO Management.
  • Ensure all department forms and supplies are stocked at all times.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Pharmacy Technician Maryland State Board license.
  • One or more years of experience with customer service in a pharmacy setting.
  • One or more years of experience with data entry.
  • Understanding of state and federal regulations pertaining to pharmaceutical dispensaries.
