Data Entry Clerk (Contract)

Virgin Galactic is seeking a Maintenance Data Entry Clerk with experience in using multiple software platforms to transcribe maintenance data into electronic format. Asset maintenance data is crucial to the operation of our assets and helps ensure our compliance to appropriate regulations.


This is a contract position at Virgin Galactic’s base of operations, Spaceport America / Las Cruces, NM.


1st Shift (M-Th) 6am- 4:30pm

or

1st Shift (Th-Su) 6am- 4:30pm


Responsibilities

This position is responsible for entering maintenance log data into an electronic database, aiding Maintenance Control in setting up work packages for Maintenance Execution. The position is also responsible for auditing the electronic database to other truth sources to ensure compliance to the maintenance program. This position: - Transcribes all maintenance task card data into an electronic data base - Updates as required new information for previously recorded discrepancies - Reviews form completions for all applicable fields - Records task completed details - Records recorded task time - Records completion dates - Organizes and archives completed paper documentation with company records management procedures - Scans and archives all paper documentation in electronic archive - Daily scans of ERs (in work and completed) - Prints and organizes all scheduled task cards - Collects metric data and update the reporting database.


What you bring

  • Must have High School diploma or GED. Associates degree in technical field preferred.
  • Must have 2 years’ experience entering data into a database or other file system.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must have working knowledge of computers, and general software: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and work any shift, including weekends and be on call Preferred Skills and Experience
  • 2 years of Aerospace Maintenance or Manufacturing experience highly desired.
  • Additional Requirements - Must be highly organized and able to handle stressful situations
  • Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods – 8 hours min.
  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.


Preferred Skills and Experience


  • Associate's and/or Bachelor's related degree is preferred. However, consideration will be given for equivalent operational leadership experience
  • Experience with specific fleet types, such as large commercial or business jets.
  • Project management experience related to maintenance or technical operations.
  • Willing to travel and be on-call
