About the Position

BLM Contract Support is seeking detail-oriented Data Entry Operator II professionals to provide on-site administrative and records support for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Carlsbad Field Office in New Mexico. This role supports the BLM oil, gas, and minerals mission by performing accurate data entry, records verification, and information management across multiple land and mineral records systems.

The Data Entry Operator II plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of federal land and mineral records while supporting rights-of-way (ROW) processing and Applications for Permit to Drill (APDs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform data entry by entering, updating, researching, verifying, and retrieving information from multiple systems.
  • Work with Mineral & Land Records Systems, General Land Office Records Automation System, and IT4RM (or similar systems).
  • Prepare and verify source data for entry, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Identify, research, and obtain missing or incomplete data as needed.
  • Log receipt of data and maintain proper documentation.
  • Resolve data processing issues and discrepancies.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive and protected information.
  • Operate data entry equipment and standard office software to meet productivity and accuracy standards.
  • Support records management activities related to BLM land and mineral programs.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related data entry or records experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to work with multiple databases and information systems.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including data entry and document management tools.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting federal agencies or government contract environments.
  • Familiarity with land, mineral, or records management systems.
  • Prior experience supporting oil, gas, or natural resource programs.

Work Environment

  • On-site position at the BLM Carlsbad Field Office in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
  • Standard business hours; no remote work available at this time.

Background Requirements

  • Must successfully pass a federal background investigation.
  • Compliance with all applicable federal suitability and security requirements is mandatory.
