Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Entry Operator with an accounts background to accurately enter, update, and maintain financial and accounting data. The ideal candidate should have basic accounting knowledge, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in data entry and office software.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter financial data such as invoices, vouchers, bills, receipts, and journal entries into accounting systems
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Verify and cross-check data for accuracy and completeness
- Assist in preparing basic financial reports and statements
- Maintain digital and physical accounting records and files
- Support the accounts team with day-to-day accounting tasks
- Update customer and vendor details in accounting software
- Ensure confidentiality and security of financial information
- Perform regular data backups and record maintenance
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Educational background in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance (Diploma/B.Com preferred)
- Proven experience as a Data Entry Operator or Accounts Assistant
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or similar)
- Good typing speed with high accuracy
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GST, invoicing, or bank reconciliation
- Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems
- Prior experience in a finance or accounts department
