TITLE: Front Office/Surgical Scheduler
RESPONSIBLE TO: Front Office Manager
DEFINITION:
Create a comfortable environment for patients on admission. Obtain and process necessary information for patient admission. Schedule surgeries. Process paperwork efficiently to allow for timely billing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous job experience with patient interaction in a medical environment.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties
This position is the point of contact of the ASC with patient, so the impression that you convey is critical. You are also the first chance for us to correct errors in the chart, screen out inappropriate candidates, and make sure communication is excellent between all providers.

Have pleasant and supportive personal interactions with the patient, including phone courtesy.

Complete paperwork for patient check in:

HIPPA compliance

Identification, insurance information
-
Any other additional forms needed

Responsible for upkeep of the surgery waiting room, keeping it clean and stocked.

Postoperative billing:
-
Perform chart checks for completion of chart, and correct billing forms.

Verify all necessary paperwork is sent to billing at the end of the day and as requested.

Return incorrect billing sheets to the appropriate personnel for changes.

Reviews and verify patient refund requests from Billing Company and submits to FPSC management for approval prior to sending patient refund.

Charts:

Ensure charts are complete with 72 hours post procedure

Complete follow up on operative reports and pathology reports.

Organization of medical records: Organize a filing system for miscellaneous paperwork, operative notes, pathology reports, etc. in patient charts and various log books.

Assist the Front Office Manager as necessary.

Knowledge of computer programs and applications.

Skill in operating office equipment

Skill in handling paperwork/filing adequately.

Skill in written and verbal communication.

Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA.
Education:
High school diploma or GED.
Experience:
One (1) year of office clerical experience preferred. Medical office experience preferred.
