Job Description:

We are seeking a meticulous and motivated Data Entry / Research Specialist to join our team. This hybrid role involves on-site legal research at the Alaska State Law Library and Alaska State Recorder's Office combined with some remote data entry work from home. The ideal candidate will be comfortable navigating legal resources, transcribing data with precision, and maintaining professionalism and focus in both structured and independent work environments.

PLEASE NOTE: This position requires visiting the state law library and state recorder's office during business hours. Please do not apply if you have a full-time job that will not allow you to spend time at the law library during regular business hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-person visits to the Alaska State Law Library and Alaska State Recorder's Office to gather legal or regulatory information
• Accurately review, extract, and organize data from printed or digital legal documents
• Enter collected data into proprietary database with the highest level of accuracy
• Maintain detailed records and audit trails of research and data sources
• Communicate progress with the team regularly, using remote collaboration tools
• Uphold confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a data entry, administrative support, or research-related role
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and document processing tools
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy in typing
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and stay self-disciplined in a remote setting
• Reliable transportation for regular visits to the Alaska State Law Library and Alaska State Recorder's Office
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Must successfully complete mandatory certification to demonstrate competency and understanding of retrieval guidelines and procedures prior to beginning work (at no cost to the candidate)

Compensation:

• Compensation is based on the number of accurate data entry records submitted
• Payments are made weekly via direct deposit
