Data & Financial Analyst-Technical Sales & Performance Analytics

Position Summary

The Data & Financial Analyst supports commercial growth and technical execution by quantifying and communicating the operational and economic value generated by chemical treatment programs. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, science, operations, and technical sales, translating well performance data into clear financial outcomes that support customer retention, program expansion, and new business development.

In a growth-stage service environment, the analyst plays a critical role in demonstrating value creation, supporting pricing and commercial strategy, and helping scale analytical processes that differentiate the company in competitive Permian Basin markets.

Key Responsibilities

Performance Analytics & Value Demonstration

  • Analyze production and operational data to evaluate well performance before and after chemical treatment programs, including production uplift, decline mitigation, and operational reliability improvements.
  • Work closely with engineering and scientific teams to establish consistent methodologies for measuring treatment effectiveness and performance attribution.
  • Develop repeatable analytical frameworks that quantify treatment impact across multiple wells, pads, and customers.
  • Produce performance summaries and case studies that clearly demonstrate technical and economic value to customers and internal stakeholders.

Technical Sales & Commercial Support

  • Partner with Technical Sales and Account Management teams to support customer proposals, program justifications, and renewal discussions.
  • Translate technical results into commercial narratives that align production outcomes with customer economic objectives.
  • Support pricing discussions through economic modeling, sensitivity analysis, and competitive benchmarking.
  • Participate in customer meetings, technical reviews, and performance presentations as a data and financial subject matter resource.

Financial & Economic Analysis

  • Perform economic evaluations including ROI analysis, payout calculations, incremental production valuation, and margin impact assessments.
  • Support commercial forecasting by linking program performance to revenue growth and expansion opportunities.
  • Assist leadership in evaluating program profitability and resource allocation across customers and treatment types.
  • Contribute to data-driven decision making in a capital-efficient, growth-oriented operating environment.

Data Management & Analytics Development

  • Aggregate and validate production, treatment, and operational data from internal systems and customer sources.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and automated reporting tools that enable scalable performance tracking.
  • Improve data structures and analytical workflows to support rapid growth and increasing data volume.
  • Ensure consistency and integrity of performance metrics used in both technical and commercial discussions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a liaison between engineering, chemistry, operations, finance, and commercial teams.
  • Support post-treatment reviews and optimization initiatives aimed at improving customer outcomes.
  • Help standardize performance reporting to support scalable growth across multiple accounts and basins.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 3–7 years of experience in oil and gas, chemical services, production optimization, or technical/commercial analytics roles.
  • Experience supporting technical sales, account management, or customer-facing performance reviews preferred.
  • Prior experience in a growth-stage or fast-paced service organization strongly preferred.
  • Permian Basin operational familiarity highly desirable.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling capability.
  • Experience with data analysis tools (SQL, Python, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency with visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
  • Working knowledge of upstream production metrics, well performance analysis, and economic evaluation methods.

Working Conditions

  • Combination of office and field exposure within the Permian Basin.
  • Occasional travel to customer sites and field locations.
