Data Governance Analyst

Job Summary

This role is responsible for supporting the governance framework by ensuring that controls are applied consistently across data assets. This role has oversight over data policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Essential Functions

• Collaborate with data stewards to understand their data needs and requirements.
• Support the definition and enforcement of governance policies, standards, and operating procedures.
• Monitor adherence to governance processes and track KPIs.
• Conduct data quality and compliance assessments.
• Assist in developing and implementing data management and governance strategies.
• Assist in training and educating employees on data management and governance best practices.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in data management and governance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems science, OR equivalent experience[MA1] .
• Three (3) years of experience as a data governance analyst or in a similar role.

Required Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

• Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of data management principles and best practices, with emphasis on managing and maintaining Data Quality across data assets.
• Ability to operate with databases, data warehousing concepts, and data management tools (e.g., Databricks, SQL, etc.)

Physical Requirements

• Position works in-office at the corporate location
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to use a computer and other office equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to navigate the office environment safely, including stairs and elevators (if applicable)
