Data Governance Analyst

Role : Data Governance
Location : Phoenix , AZ (5 days Onsite)
Contract role : 1+ year Key Responsibilities

Partner with business and technology teams to understand data flows, sourcing, and usage
Implement data governance policies including data lifecycle, classification, and controls
Identify, assess, and mitigate data risks across customer, partner, and operational data
Manage data lineage and data quality initiatives across systems
Ensure governance of third-party data exchanges with proper controls and compliance
Support setup of ADS, SOR, SOO, and Critical Data Elements (CDEs) with clear ownership
Ensure compliance with data retention and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to embed governance in platforms and APIs
Support data incident management, root cause analysis, and remediation
Develop reports, dashboards, and metrics to track data quality and governance maturity
Promote data governance awareness and accountability across teams

Requirements

9+ years of experience in Data Governance / Data Management / Data Risk / Data Controls
Experience in top financial services organizations (preferred)
Strong understanding of:
Data lifecycle
Data lineage
Data quality
Metadata and data ownership
Experience working with complex data systems and third-party integrations
Hands-on experience implementing data governance frameworks and controls
Good knowledge of data retention and regulatory compliance
Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills
