Data Governance Consultant (Six-Month Contract - Onsite at Kuwait)

Consultant Qualifications for Data Governance Engagement within a Telecommunications Environment. Six months’ initial contract with possibility of extension based on organization’s needs. Position is on site at Kuwait for one of Acies's clients.

Position Summary

The client organization invites applications for a highly qualified Data Governance Consultant who will be responsible for managing and enhancing the organization’s Data Governance framework, with a strong focus on the technical administration of the Collibra platform. The consultant will oversee Collibra operations, integrations, and metadata management, ensuring seamless connectivity with enterprise systems. This role supports business data stewards, enables data quality and compliance initiatives, and ensures that Collibra remains a reliable, scalable, and well-governed data governance solution across the organization

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the implementation of the Collibra Data Governance Tool, including collection and validation of requirements, business rules, and metadata from business units to ensure alignment with data governance standards prior to deployment.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Collibra Data Governance Tool, ensuring stability, performance, and data quality
  • Configure and maintain Collibra workflows, domains, data models, policies, roles, and metadata structures
  • Lead integration activities between Collibra and enterprise systems (ETL tools, data warehouses, APIs, cataloguing tools)
  • Develop and maintain Collibra APIs, connectors, and integration pipelines
  • Support onboarding of business data owners, data stewards, and SMEs into the Collibra platform
  • Ensure proper metadata ingestion, lineage capture, and synchronization with source systems
  • Troubleshoot issues, coordinate fixes with IT teams, and maintain platform upgrades and patches
  • Implement data governance standards, data quality rules, and business glossary frameworks
  • Provide training, guidance, and best practices to users to drive adoption of data governance processes
  • Support audits and compliance initiatives related to data privacy, security, and regulatory controls
  • Use governance platforms such as Collibra, Informatica to drive metadata and policy management
  • Help automate governance tasks through integration with DWH teams’ pipelines
  • Data governance Framework implementation: support the deployment of data governance policies, standards, and rules based on (DAMA/DCAM principles)
  • Collaborate with DWH teams to embed quality checkpoints in ETL pipelines

Required Qualifications / Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Management, Data Engineering, or related field
  • Strong technical background in metadata management, APIs and system integrations, ETL/ELY data pipeline
  • Hands-on experience administering or configuring Collibra Data Governance (mandatory)
  • Strong understanding of data governance concepts and frameworks (DAMA, DCAM).
  • Solid knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and data modeling.
  • Experience working with REST APIs and integration tools
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate resolution across teams.
  • Strong communication skills, able to work with business and technical stakeholders
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical configurations

Preferred Experience

  • Minimum of six (6) to eight (8) years of demonstrable, hands-on experience in the development and implementation of data governance policies and frameworks.
  • Prior experience implementing or supporting Collibra at enterprise scale.
  • Exposure to BI, DWH, and analytics environments within telecom or large enterprises.
  • Familiarity with data lineage, data quality tools, and cataloging solutions.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and metadata ingestion frameworks.
  • Collibra Ranger or Collibra Certified Professional (preferred).
  • Experience in administering and configuring Collibra Data Governance center
  • Experience integrating Collibra with platforms
  • Supporting enterprise data governance implementation using Collibra as the central tools

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: KD10,000.000 - KD12,000.000 per year
