Data Governance Specialist (Microsoft Purview)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Data Governance Specialist with expertise in Microsoft Purview to establish and maintain data governance frameworks for our telecom and fintech data assets. You will ensure data quality, security, and regulatory compliance while enabling effective data management for customer data, network data, and financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement Microsoft Purview for cataloging telecom data (subscriber data, network logs, CDR) and fintech data (customer profiles, transactions, payment data)
• Define and enforce data governance policies for sensitive customer and financial information
• Configure data classification and sensitivity labels for PII, payment card data, and confidential business data
• Establish data quality rules for billing accuracy, transaction integrity, and customer data completeness
• Create business glossaries for telecom terms (ARPU, MOU, churn) and fintech metrics (APR, default rate, wallet balance)
• Ensure compliance with telecom regulations and financial services requirements (PCI-DSS, KYC, AML, data privacy laws)
• Conduct data lineage tracking for regulatory reporting and audit requirements
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, and risk teams on data governance initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview (formerly Azure Purview)
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks (DAMA-DMBOK, DGI Framework)
• Understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements
• Experience with data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent English communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with telecom or fintech data governance
• Knowledge of PCI-DSS, KYC/AML regulations, and telecom data privacy requirements
• Certifications in data governance (CDMP, DGSP) or Microsoft Azure
• Experience with master data management for customer data
