Data Modeler (Intermediate) – Alteryx / SQL / Oracle

About the Role

Our client is seeking an Intermediate Data Modeler to design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and models supporting enterprise operations. The consultant will work with Alteryx Designer, Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler, Python, and SQL to build scalable pipelines, manage ETL code, and ensure data quality and governance.

This role requires strong data engineering and modeling skills with hands-on experience optimizing workflows, developing quality controls, and collaborating with analysts on compliance and governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize data pipelines using Alteryx Designer.

• Create and maintain logical data models in Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler.

• Manage ETL repositories and perform ad hoc data cleansing.

• Define and implement data quality control procedures and metrics.

• Identify, troubleshoot, and remediate data integrity issues.

• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support data governance and security.

• Monitor/tune database performance and optimize queries.

• Document processes and mentor junior staff as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in IT, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• 3–5 years working with Alteryx Designer (ETL & pipelines).

• Proficiency with Python and SQL.

• Strong knowledge of relational databases and data modeling.

• Analytical ability to work with complex datasets.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with data warehouses, data lakes/lakehouses.

• Familiarity with Qlik Sense or other BI tools.

• Knowledge of environmental science or water quality data.
