Data Platform Developer

**This is a remote position that may require occasional travel. We are looking for a candidate in the Greater Harrisburg area. SUMMARY: The Data Solutions Developer designs, develops, and optimizes enterprise data warehouse solutions that support analytics and reporting initiatives. This role applies strong database development expertise, Azure cloud technologies, and Power BI to deliver scalable, high-quality data solutions that enable accurate insights and informed business decision-making.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high performing data warehouse solutions

• Build and optimize ETL/ELT processes using tools such as Azure Data Factory or SSIS

• Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views for data transformation and loading

• Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and availability

• Work with Azure services including Azure SQL Database and Azure Data Factory

• Develop interactive and insightful Power BI dashboards and reports based on business requirements

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical solutions

• Monitor and improve data warehouse performance, ensuring uptime, data integrity, and scalability

• Document data models, processes, and procedures

• Performs other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

• 3+ years of experience in data warehouse development and database programming

• Proficiency in T-SQL and relational database design (SQL Server)

• Hands-on experience with Azure data platform services (e.g., Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Factory)

• Strong knowledge of data modeling techniques (star/snowflake schemas)

• Experience in developing Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models (DAX, Power Query)

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

• Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision

• Criminal background check required for hire

PREFERRED QUALIFICTIONS:

• Experience with Davisware/Sage 300

• Familiarity with QlikView/SSRS reporting tools

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

• Ability to travel to various divisions and worksites as needed
