Data Privacy Officer

Role Overview:


This role ensures the organization complies with local and international privacy regulations ( PDPL, GDPR ). Responsibilities include managing Data Subject Access Requests ( DSARs ), conducting privacy assessments, guiding departments on data minimization, and supporting Privacy-by-Design practices in new systems and projects. The specialist also supports incident response planning and legal reviews.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs/DPIAs)
  • Manage and respond to Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs)
  • Draft and review data sharing and processing agreements
  • Ensure compliance with PDPL, GDPR, and support Privacy-by-Design principles
  • Provide documentation, advisory input, and awareness communication
  • Support legal reviews and data-related incident response plans



Qualifications & Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Security, or Data Governance
  • Preferred: Master’s in Cyber Law, Information Assurance, or Privacy Management
  • 3–6 years of experience in data privacy, legal compliance, or information security roles
  • Preferably worked within government or semi-government entities in the tech domain



Key Competencies:


  • Strong understanding of PDPL, GDPR, and Privacy-by-Design practices
  • Experience in conducting PIAs/DPIAs and managing DSARs
  • Ability to draft and review privacy and data sharing agreements
  • Excellent documentation, advisory, and communication skills
  • Ability to promote awareness and training on data privacy topics



Certifications (Preferred):

  • CIPP (Certified Information Privacy Professional)
  • CIPM
  • Or equivalent certifications in data privacy
