Role Overview

The Junior DPO supports the organization’s data protection and privacy compliance initiatives. The role involves assisting with privacy assessments, maintaining documentation, responding to data subject requests, and helping implement privacy policies under the supervision of the DPO.

Key Responsibilities1. Privacy Compliance Support

  • Assist in implementing and maintaining data privacy policies and procedures.
  • Help track compliance with relevant privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, DPDP Act 2023, CCPA).
  • Support the creation and updating of data inventories, records of processing activities (RoPA), and consent logs.

2. Privacy Impact Reviews

  • Support the execution of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA) / DPIAs for new products, vendors, or processes.
  • Document privacy risks and track mitigation actions.

3. Data Subject Requests (DSARs)

  • Support the intake and processing of DSARs, ensuring they are handled within required timelines.
  • Maintain documentation of request histories and decisions.

4. Incident & Breach Support

  • Assist in documenting and tracking privacy incidents and breaches.
  • Support communication workflows and stakeholder coordination in the event of a breach.

5. Training & Awareness

  • Help organize and deliver internal privacy awareness sessions.
  • Maintain logs of employee trainings, acknowledgments, and policy sign-offs.

6. Vendor & Contract Support

  • Review vendor questionnaires and assist with third-party privacy assessments.
  • Support the DPO in maintaining vendor compliance records.

7. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare periodic privacy reports, dashboards, and compliance updates for management.
  • Maintain organized and accurate privacy documentation.

Required QualificationsEducation

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Privacy or compliance coursework preferred.

Experience

  • 0–3 years’ experience in data privacy, compliance, cybersecurity, legal, audit, or related fields.
  • Experience with GDPR or DPDP Act 2023 is an advantage.

Skills

  • Basic understanding of data protection principles.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Excel, documentation tools, and ticketing systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
