Job Overview

The Institute of Knowledge (IOK) is a leading Islamic educational organisation dedicated to fostering a finer future through high-quality programming. We are currently seeking a meticulous and dedicated Data Quality Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of our organisational data, which is crucial for supporting our wide range of educational programs, including our accredited school, seminaries, and chaplaincy services. This is a Full-Time remote position based in the United States, offering a competitive hourly rate of $25 - $35 USD per hour.

Responsibilities

As a Data Quality Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring our data is reliable and fit for purpose. Your key responsibilities will include:
 

  • Developing, implementing, and enforcing data quality standards and procedures across the organisation.
  • Conducting regular data audits to identify and resolve data integrity issues, including inaccuracies, duplications, and inconsistencies.
  • Collaborating with various departments to understand their data requirements and ensure data is captured accurately at the source.
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for data standards, metrics, and procedures.
  • Monitoring data entry and management processes to ensure compliance with established guidelines.
  • Analysing and reporting on data quality metrics to key stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Assisting in the cleansing and standardisation of data sets for migration, reporting, and analysis.
  • Providing training and support to staff on data quality best practices and the use of data management tools.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset and a passion for data accuracy. Key qualifications include:
 

  • Proven experience in a data quality, data management, or a similar analytical role.
  • A strong understanding of data governance and data quality principles.
  • Proficiency in data profiling, cleansing, and validation techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data concepts to non-technical colleagues.
  • Experience with database management systems and a working knowledge of SQL is highly desirable.
  • Experience working within an educational or non-profit organisation would be an advantage.
  • A genuine appreciation for the mission and values of the Institute of Knowledge.
