Data Scientist
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis & Modeling:
- Perform in-depth exploratory data analysis (EDA) on large, complex datasets (e.g., lab throughput, MIS reports, sales performance) to identify trends, anomalies, and root causes of business challenges.
- Develop and implement statistical models (e.g., regression, time-series forecasting) to predict key business outcomes like revenue, lab volume, and operational bottlenecks.
- Process Optimization & Automation:
- Collaborate with the Lab and Production teams (e.g., Head Production Manager) to analyze and optimize operational workflows, identifying areas for automation and efficiency gains (e.g., reducing turnaround time/TAT).
- Design and build ETL processes and automated data pipelines to streamline data flow from various source systems into the centralized analytical platform.
- Reporting & Business Intelligence (BI):
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports (e.g., using Power BI or Tableau) to visualize KPIs and provide real-time insights to senior management.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data used for reporting, performing data validation and quality checks rigorously.
- Strategic Support:
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders in Finance and Sales.
- Support the Annual Business Planning (BP) process by providing data-driven projections and competitive analysis.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 2-3 years of professional experience in a Data Analyst, Data Science, or Business Intelligence role.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Expert proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating complex data.
- Strong programming skills in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) or R for statistical analysis and modeling.
- Proven experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView.
- Education: Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
Desired Competencies
- Experience in the diamond, jewelry, or luxury goods industry is a strong plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create visually effective presentations.
