Job Title: Data Scientist I Data Science & Machine Learning

Role Overview

We are seeking a Data Scientist I to lead and support analytics and machine learning initiatives within the Intelligent Solutions Group. This role focuses on transforming complex datasets into actionable business insights through statistical modeling, machine learning, and advanced analytics.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and/or support data science and analytics projects
• Gather and translate business requirements into analytical objectives
• Clean, preprocess, explore, and analyze structured/unstructured data
• Design and manage ETL workflows and analytic data pipelines
• Develop statistical models and machine learning algorithms
• Engineer features from diverse data sources
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
• Maintain Agile backlog and participate in peer reviews
• Present findings via reports and presentations
• Stay current with data science & AI advancements
• Participate in innovation activities (e.g., hackathons)

Education Requirement

• Bachelor's Degree in:
  Data Science / Computer Science / Statistics / Mathematics / Engineering / Related Field

Required Skills & Experience

• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Strong data manipulation & analysis skills
• Experience working with DataFrames
• Hands-on experience with data preprocessing & ETL pipelines
• Exposure to statistical analysis & ML algorithms
• Experience analyzing text and/or numerical data
• Excellent communication & teamwork abilities
• Strong analytical thinking & attention to detail
• Ability to work independently
• Passion for problem-solving & continuous learning
• Ability to adapt mindset based on business scenarios
• Capability to guide/train others on data trends & reporting

Desired / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Master's or PhD in a relevant field
• Knowledge of PySpark, Git, GitHub, Bash, Databricks
• Databricks / AWS Certifications
• Expertise in relational databases & schema design
• Experience with BoMs, agronomic, telematics datasets
• Strong software engineering fundamentals
• Exposure to Data Engineering / MLOps
• Knowledge of Transformers, LLMs, AI
