This is a U.S. remote position. The Data Scientist is a critical contributor ensuring Aptitude Health builds the right infrastructure and analytics to optimize its use of healthcare real-world data in support of OncoJourney and other initiatives at Aptitude Health.


Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver an end-to-end healthcare data lake/warehouse to analyze patient journeys
  • Build, automate and maintain data ingestion pipelines to ensure reliable, repeatable data loads
  • Develop data cleansing and business-rule transformations with standardized definitions for clinical events, encounters, and patient journeys
  • Design and implement dimensional, analytics-ready data models to support scalable and repeatable BI querying
  • Build out a library of code-based capabilities that can be utilized in various combinations to achieve different analytics outcomes
  • Implement data quality to increase trust in reporting
  • Maintain platform performance, security, and compliance, deliver operational support and continuous improvements to the platform

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Machine Learning or other related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years’ work experience in Data Analytics and Data Science
  • Strong experience with Data Warehousing concepts
  • Experience with US healthcare Real-World Data
  • Experience productizing analytics for re-usability, adaptability
  • Hands-on experience building production-grade data pipelines with automation, monitoring, and repeatability
  • Advanced SQL and data modeling skills (dimensional modeling, analytics-ready schemas) for scalable BI consumption
  • Experience implementing data quality frameworks (validation rules, completeness/consistency checks, anomaly detection, audit trails) and data governance standards
  • AWS Data Stack: Amazon S3m AWS Glue, Amazon Redshift, Amazon Athena, S3, Lambda Functions
  • Advanced Python and SQL

Desired Additional experience:

  • Experience with oncology specific healthcare/medical record data
  • Familiarity with security and compliance practices for sensitive data (least privilege, auditing, access controls)

Conditions of Employment:

  • Eligible Candidates must live in the U.S. and be able to work in the U.S.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Travel may be required based on business needs (domestically and internationally) and attend virtual programs outside of working hours as needed.

The range for this role is up to $115,000 and based upon several factors including experience, education, skills, training, qualifications, location, and company need.
