POSITION: Data Scientist

LOCATION: REMOTE (San Antonio, Detroit, New Orleans)

HOURS: Full-Time, Non-Union. 40hrs/week

COMPENSATION: $80k - $100k (Commensurate with Experience)

ABOUT THE POSITION

As a Data Scientist, you will develop and improve machine learning models that support customer personalization and marketing effectiveness across our CRM and digital channels. Working under the guidance of a Senior Data Scientist, you will focus on modelling, experimentation, and analysis, helping turn customer data into practical, measurable improvements in engagement and conversion.


This role is hands‑on and analytical, with clear ownership of model development and testing, while deployment and serving are handled in partnership with ML Engineers. You’ll work closely with CRM and Marketing teams to ensure models are well understood, correctly applied, and delivering real business impact

PEOPLE, PLACES, AND THINGS

  • Contribute to designing, scaling/building, evaluating, integrating, and refining machine learning models.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Engineering across the US and UK to define how machine learning underpins personalized customer communications.
  • Build reusable science infrastructure, design and build production-grade measurement systems and establish robust evaluation frameworks.


EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Data Scientist building and improving predictive models used in real products or decision‑making.
  • Degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong skills in Python and applied machine learning, with good coding practices and a focus on clear, maintainable analysis.
  • Experience developing and evaluating models such as propensity, segmentation, or recommendations, from problem definition through to measurement.
  • Comfortable designing and analyzing experiments (A/B tests, holdouts, offline validation) to understand model impact.
  • Experience working with modern data stacks (e.g. SQL, Snowflake/dbt) to prepare features and analyze large datasets.
  • Familiarity with how models are taken into production, including collaboration with ML Engineers and awareness of concepts like versioning and monitoring.
  • Bonus: experience applying data science in CRM, marketing, or personalization use cases.
