Data Scientist

We are currently looking for the next Data Scientist to join our team of experts!
What you will be doing:
Using a holistic approach, designs, develops, evaluates and modifies end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle. Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development. Informed by daily interaction with functionals customers, gathers functional requirements, designs interfaces and brings system elements together so they work as a whole. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts. Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation. Implements DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Artifactory. Performs security hardening, patching and server certificate updates. Works with Cloud technologies. Develops documentation for System Installation Plans and System Administration Guides.
- A bachelor’s degree and 14 years of relevant experience OR a Master’s degree with 12 years of relevant experience OR A PhD with 9 years of relevant experience
- Prefer an advanced degree in Philosophy, Computer Science, Information Science, or a quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
- Deep proficiency in ontology languages (RDF, OWL, SHACL) and vocabularies (SKOS).
- Strong SPARQL skills; experience with semantic ETL, query optimization, and graph reasoning.
- Proficiency in Python (plus R/Java as needed) for data science, graph processing, and ML model development.
- Strong engineering practices: Git, PR workflow, testing/validation, CI/CD.
- Active TS/SCI adjudication with ability to obtain a CI Poly.
Desired Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with ontology/graph platforms such as Protégé, AnzoGraph, Stardog, PoolParty, or Semaphore.
- Experience integrating disparate datasets into a unified semantic model and writing effective production-grade queries.
- Familiarity with upper ontologies (BFO, DOLCE, Common Core Ontologies, OBO Foundry).
- Knowledge of machine learning, including supervised/unsupervised methods, embeddings, and model fine tuning.
