For our Unit Life Europe, LatAm & MENA, we are seeking a Data Scientist & Analytics Specialist for a permanent position based at our Dubai office, with a start date as soon as possible.

If you have 2–3 years of experience and want to grow your career in a global, data‑driven reinsurance environment, this role gives you exposure to underwriting analytics, pricing models, portfolio insights, and risk evaluation.

You’ll work closely with underwriting and actuarial teams to turn complex datasets into meaningful insights that support smarter risk decisions.

Your Role

• Understand the insurance and reinsurance value chain to systematically identify opportunities for efficiency gains and process optimization.
• Support underwriting and reinsurance teams through data-driven insights, enhancing pricing models, and risk analytics through AI and ML models.
• Translate strategic objectives into data science roadmaps, defining success metrics, KPIs, and validation frameworks.
• Apply advanced AI and ML modelling techniques to identify risk drivers, optimize selection, and improve portfolio performance and processes.
• Utilize internal and external data sources to generate market and competitor insights supporting strategic decisions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to prototype, test, and scale new data-driven solutions.
• Drive innovation through advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI applications to support new product development.
• Share knowledge, best practices, and reusable tools to elevate team and organizational capability.

Your Profile

• 2 - 3 years of relevant experience in data science, advanced analytics, or machine learning roles – preferable in insurance or reinsurance entities
• Bachelor’s degree in quantitative discipline such as Actuarial Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional certifications in data science, machine learning, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP), or actuarial qualifications are advantageous
• Experience working in cloud-based ecosystems (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks, etc.) and handling large, complex datasets.
• Experience leading analytical projects or workstreams, managing multiple stakeholders, and delivering tight timelines
• Advanced proficiency in Python, R, SQL, AI tools (copilot, Claude, OpenAI, and others)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Creative, collaborative, and solutions oriented
• Fluent in Arabic and English; additional languages such as French are an advantage
