Data Scientist - Pricing and Analytics

Job Summary:

PGW Auto Glass is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Data Scientist to join our Pricing & Analytics team. This role will focus on transforming large-scale enterprise data into actionable business insights that improve pricing strategy, sales performance, inventory optimization, customer experience, and operational efficiency across our branch and distribution center network throughout the United States and Canada.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and visualization capabilities, practical experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services, and exposure to machine learning and AI-driven analytics. This position will work closely with Pricing, Supply Chain, Operations, IT, and Executive Leadership teams to develop modern analytics solutions and self-service reporting platforms.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining data science, business intelligence, and modern cloud analytics technologies to solve real-world business problems.


Key Responsibilities & Duties:

Data Analytics & Visualization

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and analytical solutions using:

o Microsoft Power BI

o Fabric Direct Lake semantic models

o Power BI Copilot capabilities

o Paginated reports and executive scorecards

  • Create KPI-driven dashboards for:

o Pricing analytics

o POS sales trends

o Inventory optimization

o Supply chain performance

o Customer purchasing behavior

o Branch and DC operational analytics

  • Enable self-service analytics for business users through governed semantic models and curated datasets.

Data Science & AI/ML

  • Develop predictive and prescriptive analytics models for:

o Dynamic pricing

o Sales forecasting

o Demand planning

o Customer segmentation

o Lost sales analysis

o Inventory replenishment

  • Apply machine learning and AI techniques using:

o Python

o Spark notebooks

o Fabric Data Science workloads

o Azure AI / OpenAI capabilities

  • Assist with AI-driven initiatives including:

o Copilot-enabled analytics

o Conversational BI

o Sentiment analysis

o Speech-to-text analytics

o Agentic AI use cases


Microsoft Fabric & Cloud Analytics

  • Work extensively with Microsoft Fabric ecosystem including:

o OneLake

o Lakehouse

o Data Warehouse

o Data Factory

o Dataflows Gen2

o Eventstream / Real-Time Intelligence

o Spark Notebooks

o Semantic Models

o Power BI

  • Support ingestion and transformation of enterprise data from:

o Oracle

o SQL Server

o APIs

o SaaS platforms

o XML/JSON log files

o Event streaming platforms

  • Build scalable analytics pipelines and curated datasets for enterprise reporting.

Business Collaboration

  • Partner with Pricing, Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, and IT teams to understand business challenges and deliver analytical solutions.
  • Translate complex business requirements into technical analytics solutions.
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership teams in a clear and concise manner.
  • Participate in enterprise data modernization and cloud transformation initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in:

o Data Science

o Computer Science

o Information Systems

o Engineering

o Statistics

o Mathematics

o or related field

  • 3–5 years of experience in:

o Data Analytics

o Business Intelligence

o Data Science

o or related analytics roles

  • Strong experience with:

o Power BI

o SQL

o Data modeling

o Dashboard development

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Microsoft Fabric platform.
  • Proficiency in Python for analytics and data manipulation.
  • Experience working with large enterprise datasets.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Fabric services including:

o Lakehouse

o Spark

o Data Factory

o Real-Time Analytics

o Semantic Models

  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and AI/ML concepts.

Knowledge of:

o Pricing analytics

o Supply chain analytics

o Inventory optimization

o Wholesale/distribution analytics


Experience with:

o REST APIs

o Event streaming

o Kafka/Event Hub

o XML/JSON data processing

  • Familiarity with cloud data warehouse modernization initiatives.

Microsoft certifications in:

o Azure

o Power BI

o Fabric

o Data Engineering are a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements (if applicable):

PGW Auto Glass, LLC is working in a hybrid environment. Team members are expected to commute to our Cranberry Township, PA, Headquarters three days per week. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
