Data Specialist

Position Summary

The Financial Data Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely data entry, maintenance, and basic validation of financial and program-related data. This role supports internal tracking, reporting, and compliance requirements by ensuring information is entered correctly into spreadsheets, databases, and internal systems. The position is primarily task-based and detail-oriented, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and manage financial and program data from multiple systems
  • Track funding sources, expenditures, and program-level financial performance
  • Develop dashboards and reports (e.g., budget vs. actuals, cost per participant, funding utilization)
  • Prepare reports for funders and state agencies, including the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF)
  • Reconcile and validate data across financial and program systems
  • Support grant reporting by aligning financial data with program outcomes
  • Translate data into clear insights for leadership and program staff
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation
  • Identify opportunities to improve data systems and automate reporting processes

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • Prior experience in data entry, administrative support, or clerical roles strongly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to follow written procedures and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a Recovery Community Organization (RCO) or behavioral health setting
  • Familiarity with Florida behavioral health funding and reporting
  • Experience with dashboards or automated reporting tools

Work Environment

  • In-person in Orlando, FL

  • Occasional extended hours during reporting cycles or audits

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
