Database Administrator

Job Description

Database Administrator (DBA) designs, implements, manages, and secures an organization’s databases. They ensure data integrity, optimize performance, manage backups, and maintain database availability — serving as the backbone of reliable and efficient data infrastructure across all industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure, high-availability database systems.
  • Monitor database performance and apply tuning and optimization measures.
  • Establish and test backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures consistently.
  • Manage user access controls and enforce database security and integrity.
  • Automate routine administration tasks and streamline deployment and maintenance processes.
  • Respond to incidents, troubleshoot faults, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Manage data migrations, schema changes, and import/export activities efficiently.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.

Skill & Experience

  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Oracle, MySQL, and MS SQL Server.
  • Hands-on experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster planning.
  • Knowledge of cloud database platforms such as AWS RDS or Azure.
  • Ability to write automation scripts for scheduling and maintenance tasks.
  • Understanding of database security, access management, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-team communication and collaboration skills
