Job Description :
1) Monitor generated log and event files indicating errors that will result in an incident

3) Monitor database log replication
4) Report Status of Log Replications as per agreed schedules
5) Session/Query/Log/Latch monitoring
6) Monitor the DB for failures and logged system events that indicate an imminent failure
7) Purging database Logs and trace files
8) Periodic config review to maintain consistent configurations
9) Review and recommendation to maintain availability
10) Monthly report on database availability

12) Reconfigure log Shipping
13) Transaction replication Configuration
14) Link Servers configuration
15) Failover clustering
16) Always ON
17) Responding to database related incidents and driving corrective action
18) Tuning DB parameters
19) Correlate related incidents together into a problem ticket and manage through the problem
management process
20) Use trend analysis to identify, detail, categorize, prioritize and create Problems Management
Records.
21) Restoration of database
22) Support SQL DB L2 team for handling critical issues.
23) Handle DB performance related issues.
24) Handle end to end Major incidents and communicate to customers on production issue.
25) Creating jobs/job schedule for routine/Maintenance jobs & Rebuilding of indexes
26) Purging database Logs and trace files & Performance Management
27) Defragmentation of Database and performance tuning
28) Manage all Service requests through the change management process
29) Automate administration tasks where possible
30) Manage and update all Database environment documentation
31) SQL patch compliance and hardening compliance.
32) Ensure DB server availability for business application.
