Database Administrator - Senior

The Senior Database Administrator is the custodian of the company’s most valuable asset: its data. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and proactive management of high-performance database environments. At Jetzt Fuhrerschein Kaufenn Services, you will ensure that our systems handle rapid growth without latency, maintaining 99.99% uptime and implementing "Fort Knox" levels of security to protect user information.

Key Responsibilities

• Architecture & Design: Lead the design of scalable relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) database schemas to support evolving business requirements.
• Performance Tuning: Conduct deep-dive performance analysis, optimizing complex queries, indexing strategies, and memory management to ensure sub-second response times.
• Security & Compliance: Implement rigorous encryption at rest and in transit. Ensure all database operations comply with Qatar’s Personal Data Privacy Protection Law (PDPPL).
• High Availability (HA) & DR: Architect and manage robust failover clusters, replication sets, and Disaster Recovery (DR) sites to ensure zero data loss and minimal downtime.
• Cloud & Hybrid Management: Oversee database migration and management across cloud environments (Azure or Google Cloud Qatar regions) and on-premise infrastructure.
• Automation: Develop scripts (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) to automate routine maintenance tasks, backups, and deployments.
• Backup & Recovery: Establish and test stringent backup policies, ensuring that Point-In-Time Recovery (PITR) is always a functional reality.
• Audit & Monitoring: Implement 24/7 monitoring and alerting systems to detect and remediate anomalies before they impact the end-user.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 8–12 years as a DBA, with at least 4 years in a Senior or Lead capacity managing mission-critical production environments.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Technical Mastery:
• SQL: Expert-level knowledge of PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or MySQL.
• NoSQL: Experience with MongoDB or Redis for caching and high-speed data retrieval.
• Infrastructure: Deep understanding of SAN storage, virtualization, and cloud database services (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS).
• Certifications: * Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
• Oracle Database Administration Certified Professional (OCP).
• AWS Certified Database – Specialty.
• Language: Professional English fluency is mandatory.
• Soft Skills: Extreme attention to detail, a "security-first" mindset, and the ability to remain calm and methodical during critical system outages.
