Database Developer & Administrator

Role Description
This is a full-time role for a Database Developer and Administrator in our Technology/Engineering department. In this role, you will ensure the performance, scalability, and security of our AWS Aurora PostgreSQL databases. You will collaborate with engineers to design efficient systems, optimize queries, and maintain a scalable multi-tenant architecture, all while adhering to industry compliance standards.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
5+ years of experience in database administration or development, preferably with AWS Aurora PostgreSQL
Expertise in Python, PostgreSQL, and AWS (Aurora RDS, EC2, S3)
Strong skills in query optimization using EXPLAIN plans and indexing
Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL configuration and performance tuning
Experience designing scalable, normalized database schemas for multi-tenant systems
Excellent problem-solving skills and production incident debugging experience
Familiarity with Aurora Serverless, Django, and React is a plus
Knowledge of compliance standards such as SOC2, HIPAA, GDPR is highly desirable
Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
