Database Engineer - Top Secret Clearance

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Database Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities of the Database Engineer include:

• Design, code, test, and deploy new database configurations in a rapid development environment.
• Support large, complex systems capable of ingesting and managing high volumes of data.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define and develop system upgrades.
• Perform database development and administration across the full development lifecycle.
• Participate in customer meetings and support operational system deployments, which may require business travel.

Qualifications for the Database Engineer include:

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technical discipline.
• 6 to 8+ years of database development and administration experience.
• Strong experience with Oracle RDBMS versions 12c and 19c.
• Proficient in Oracle PL/SQL functions, procedures, packages, and types.
• Solid understanding of SQL query syntax and Oracle server operations including pluggable databases.
• Experience with RHEL Linux 7/8, including bash and csh shell programming.
• Familiarity with Oracle STIG compliance and hardening procedures.
• Experience with AWS RDS, Jira, and Git.
• Knowledge of Oracle Instant Client installation.
• Familiarity with Oracle Spatial, Oracle RAC, Oracle Label Security (OLS), and Oracle Identity Management (OIM).
• Experience with Oracle Dataguard.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work productively in a secure, collaborative environment.
• Must have an active Top Secret security clearance and be able to obtain a TS/SCI CI Poly.

Compensation for the Database Engineer includes:

• Salary Range: $150,000 - $200,000 depending on experience
